Data Protection Act 1998
This Act requires that we inform you that if you volunteer any information to us, for example via the Contact Us pages, such information may include "personal data" (that is, information about you). CPNI is a "data controller" for the purposes of this Act.
We will process the data from your message. If you ask for information that is not already published on the website, we shall try to respond to your enquiry where security constraints permit. We may need to contact other Government departments to answer it fully. If your enquiry is technical, we may need to pass some information on to our technology suppliers.
Any data you supply will be transmitted to us and processed securely and will not be retained for longer than is necessary. This data will be treated in the strictest confidence and we will only disclose such data to any person or organisation for the purposes for which it was collected or for the purpose of our statutory functions under the Security Service Act 1989.
As a data subject, you have the right to ask for a copy of the data and to ask for any inaccuracies to be corrected.
